It is not enabled in current build because of potential defects. A new backend will substitute the current way Mauku handles various services. Email may be one service in the next version.

Yes, there are. A new framework supporting various services will pe publishes soon, and after that a new services will be integrated into Mauku. I would say that this will be fixed in Fremantle - at least... ;)

Yes, yes, yes... Actually there will be a new a back-end for micro-blogging services that makes it much easier to implement support for new sites as well as to support different kind of user interfaces, such as Mauku, status bar icon, home screen applet - you name it. However, the transition to new framework need still some more work...
At least these feature requests should be "fixed in Fremantle"... ;)
